Basar Diggins Campground
Bassar Diggins is located on Lookout Mountain between Ontario and Baker City. With its high elevation, it makes for cool summers under the aspen, western larch, and Douglas fir trees. Deer, elk, grouse, and chuckar make Bassar Diggins a great hunting camp. With all the wildflowers in bloom and the wildlife around it is a wonderful place for summer camping. The view from the nearby lookout is well worth the steep road getting there.
The camping area has 3 sites, vault toilets, picnic table, and shade trees. No potable (drinking) water is available on site. However, spring water is available for animals.

This is a nice little campground. It is clean and quiet. It looks like it has a lot of hunters in the fall. The rest rooms are very clean and well taken care of. We like to tent camp here because the road getting to the campground is rough and narrow in spots. It might be a bit much for a large trailer or RV.

They have closed the lookout so you can't go to the top of the mountain or visit the fire lookout any longer.
