Barton Park is a county park on the Clackamas river near Barton, Oregon. The lower Clackamas river is extremely popular during the summer. Water activities include kayaking, rafting, tubing, and fishing. Barton park is one of the closest public campgrounds to Portland and can be very busy.
Barton park is a multi use facility providing numerous outdoor activities, including a ball field, volleyball, horseshoes, picnicking, and two play grounds. Camping is just one of the options here.
The campground consists of 102 campsites, of which 38 are for RV's only and the remainder are tents and RV's. All sites have water and electrical hookups. Some sites are shaded and situated in the trees, while others are in an open park like setting. Most sites are small with close neighbors.
Barton Park's physical address: 19009 SE Barton Park Rd., Boring, OR. 97009. Barton Park is located just off of Hwy. 224, approximately 9.8 miles east of Clackamas on the Clackamas River. From Interstate 205 take Exit 12, Clackamas/Estacada. Turn east-bound onto Hwy. 212/224. Proceed 3.2 miles through Clackamas to the Hwy. 212/224 split (Rock Creek junction). Follow Hwy. 224 to the right, following the signs to Estacada. Proceed 6.4 miles on Hwy. 224 to Bakers Ferry Road and turn right (Barton Grocery on the right-hand side). The park is .2 miles on the left-hand side of the road.
