Bagby Hot Springs Campground
Bagby Hot Springs Campground is situated along the Hot Springs fork of the Collawash River. The campground is set among towering Cedar and old growth Douglas Fir. Bagby campground is located along FR 70 at the start of the popular Bagby Hot Springs trail. The hike to Bagby Hot Springs is about 1 and a half miles and takes about 45 minutes. The hot springs are exceedingly popular, but the campground is somewhat unknown and not as heavily used.

The campground has about a 15 sites and about half are located along the river. The sites offer picnic tables and fire pits. Sites are located above the river and numerous paths lead down to the rivers edge.

Pegleg Falls on the Hot Springs fork as well as Blister Creek falls are a short hike or drive down NF 70. Fishing can be good on the Hot Springs Fork. Expect to find small rainbow and brook trout. The Hot Springs fork is low by mid July and you will need to target the larger pools. Probably best to leave the fish alone by late July and August as water temperatures rise.

From Estacada take Hwy 224 25 miles to NF 46. Travel on NF 46 for 3.7 miles to NF 63. Travel on NF 63 for 3.7 miles to NF 70. Travel on NF 70 for 6.8 miles to the campground.

Bagby campground is a decent campground. Nothing too special. This is an ideal spot for those looking to hike up to Bagby Hot Springs or fish along the Hot Springs fork. In the past the parking area at Bagby was frequented by thieves breaking into cars but they now have a host that stays in the parking lot and this has improved that situation.
Sites are of average size, but provide good spacing and privacy. The sites sit above the river and access to the river is pretty good, but not great.
