Apple Creek Campground
This campground is located a short walk away from the North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River and offers easy access to fishing. Help sustain the wild fish by not wading onto the gravel beds when salmon and steelhead are spawning. The North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River is restricted to fly fishing only for much of its run. This classic river is world famous for it's large run of summer stealhead. Spring chinook and winter steelhead are also present. Make sure to read the specific fishing regulations for the stretch you plan to fish. Regulations vary widely by location. Whitewater rafting and kayaking are also popular on the North Umpqua with a number of guide services available. From the North Umpqua Ranger Station (16 miles east of Roseburg on State Highway 138), take Highway 138 east 28 miles to Apple Creek campground, located on the right side of the highway.
